Meet our Team at Chilwell Dental Practice

I started my training as a Dental Technician in 2010 and I attended Nottingham Peoples College for 3 years to complete a Foundation Degree in Dental Technology with De Montfort University Leicester. While at University I completed work based training at my family based Dental Laboratory. In 2015 I started working for a Dental Clinic in Derby where I began my training into the Clinical Environment. This resulted in 6 years Clinical Experience in making and fitting Dentures of the highest quality. In 2016 I attended and completed a Diploma in Clinical Dental Technology with Uclan University of Preston, overseen by the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and I completed this in 24 months. I see myself as an approachable and committed individual that takes the time to understand patients concerns. My aim is to help with patients chewing and eating abilities whilst achieving for them a healthier and more aesthetic smile, while making patients feel at ease, as I believe the patients experience and comfort is of upmost importance.

Qualifications: LMD (Portugal) 2007 - Vanessa qualified in Portugal in 2007. Shortly after her qualification, she moved to England and currently lives in Nottingham with her partner, 3 year old son and her two cats. Before joining the practice, Vanessa had worked in the Restorative Department at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, where her main areas of focus included providing care to patients diagnosed with Head or Neck cancer, patients with cleft palate, rehabilitation of patients with fixed and removable prosthesis over implants and rehabilitation of patients with severe tooth wear. At the same time she had been working in primary care in a practice in Bolsover. Vanessa is known for her commitment to her patients dental health and for her loving manner. She likes to build a good rapport and get to know people so she can provide personalised care.

Keiren qualified from University of Debrecen, Hungary in 2016. He provides restorative dentistry, oral surgery and endodontics and offers guidance to his patients throughout their dental treatment.

Better known as ‘Rocky’ by the team and his patients, Dr. Takhar has worked as a Dentist in Nottingham in various practices, ever since qualifying from Valencia, Spain in 2016. Rocky’s daily motivation has been to provide a thorough and personalized service to all his patients. His day to day work is geared towards biomimetic, minimally invasive general dentistry and cosmetic dental work. Rocky also provides dental Implants here at Chilwell Dental Practice. Each case is extensively planned to ensure success and longevity. He is a provider of Invisalign short term orthodontics, is experienced in smile rehabilitations, focusing on providing biomechanically sound yet aesthetic restorations. He has completed restorative courses run by the likes of Dr Christopher Orr in London Bridge and Dr Didier Dietschi, Senior professor at the University of Geneva. Outside of work his life revolves around his wife and their 2 children of ages 3 and 5. He is a calm and understanding person and prides himself on minimising worries and maximising comfort for all of his patients, phobic and otherwise. Languages spoken English, Spanish, Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu.

Ash has had a varied career starting off in the hospital service with a strong Oral Surgery and restorative background. Ash then experienced general practice in Swansea completing Vocational Training before deciding he would like to travel and have some adventures. Ash joined the British Army in 2001 and began Officer Training at Sandhurst in 2001. Ash military career spanned 14 years including Operational commitment in many countries. Ash has completed a MSc form University of London in 2005. His Kind and friendly approach put patients’ mind at ease. Ash is also interested in providing advanced crown and bridgework for patients with complex problems and broken down dentitions. He completed a Smile design year course at Prof Paul Tipton Academy in Manchester. Ash is married to Sherry, and they have three children, two daughters and a son. Ash and Sherry enjoy walking in the Attenborough Reserve Park.

Elisa is a skilled dentist who joined the practice in 2021. Having moved to England from Seville, Spain she now calls the Nottingham area her home. With her attention to detail, Elisa quickly became a valuable addition to the existing team. Her passion for Orthodontic treatment and smile makeovers shines through in her work, making her a favorite among both her colleagues and patients. Her patients appreciate her warm and friendly demeanor, and are always thrilled with their stunning new smiles. Outside of work Elisa enjoys salsa dancing, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.

Ana graduated in sunny Lisbon, Portugal in 2007 and moved to the UK in 2008. Ana first thought about becoming a dentist when her brother suffered a fall playing basketball and the dentist managed to fix his broken front tooth. For a 12 year old that seemed like magic and that is the moment which inspired Ana’s career. All aspects of general dentistry are rewarding for Ana, but she especially loves building a rapport with her patients, which ultimately leads to a more positive relationship with their dentist and their own oral health. Having completed a certificate in restorative dentistry in 2011 and Surgical and prosthodontic implantology in 2012, Ana is currently undertaking a Master’s degree in endodontics at KCL London. Ana has lived in Nottingham until 2016, moved down south to the Cotswolds and then a bit further to South Africa, before finally returning to the UK to Nottingham to put down roots. When she’s not moving around the world, Ana enjoys spending time with her 3 boys (4 if you include the husband!) and trying to run after their greyhound rescue dog (and never succeeding) during lovely nature walks. In her spare time, Ana’s hobbies include going to the gym, dancing and also pilates!

Payal graduated as a Dentist in 2019 from the Vaidik Dental College in India. After graduating she moved to the UK where she is a registered Dental Hygienist. Payal is a skilled Oral Health Professional who supports patients in achieving optimal oral health with a range of periodontal treatments and stain removal. She is dedicated to making sure that all her patients get the best advice and treatment possible. Moreover, she has also attended many conferences and seminars in India and UK.

Hi, My name is Sharmila Thorat. I am a person who holds genuine interest in the field of dentistry and oral health. My colleagues mention me as a fast learner with outstanding dexterity. I have always been very likeable person complimented by professional and calming chair side manners. I am conscientious Dental Healthcare Professional with extensive experience in diagnosing dental problems and with expertise in managing gum conditions. I am passionate about educating people of all ages on importance of maintaining oral health. I am devoted in keeping myself updated with latest dental techniques to provide best possible dental care. I am always eager to listen to patients and I strive to deliver highest quality dental care. Outside work , I am passionate about baking, travelling , exploring new places and trying out new activities which helps me relax , recuperate and gather myself. Other than practicing dentistry ; I am also a licensed Level 1 Zumba Instructor .

Pharooq qualified from Liverpool in 2005, and after gaining some experience in Dudley, moved to Amblecote in January 2006. He furthered his qualification by completing an MSc in Orthodontics in 2019. He has an interest in restorative dentistry and orthodontics and has completed a 12 month course in aesthetic restorative dentistry. Pharooq is married with 2 young daughters and outside of dentistry he enjoys travelling and sport.

Kelly is our registered Practice Manager and has been at the practice Since February 2020. Kelly has over 16 years of experience in dentistry and has worked as a dental Nurse, Radiographer and Oral Health Educator in her local community. Her main focus is to welcome our patients to the practice and support the team to deliver a high standard of care from start to finish. Kelly is always happy to spend time chatting to patients and putting them at ease. Kelly lives with her husband and son and enjoys watching her son play football at the weekends.
